Beautiful! We were here in early spring, and not all parts of the path were easily passable because there were still deep puddles to navigate around. This meant the route had to be planned carefully. Also, the boardwalk ends practically in the water at one point, so it's best to plan your visit for later in the year.

Remains of the previous building from 879 are still preserved in the north wall of the Gothic nave of the hall church. On the north wall of the recessed, three-sided choir, supported by buttresses, stands the Gothic, five-story choir flank tower, which flanks the east choir and to which a semicircular apse is attached to the front wall. Its top floor, which houses the belfry with five church bells behind the triforium-style sound arcades, and the transverse gable roof were added in 1583. A stuccoed barrel vault was added to the interior of the nave in 1667, but not to the choir until 1743. The church's furnishings include a high altar made of stuccoed marble, built by Johannes Schütz.

The Urlau flood retention basin near Leutkirch in the Allgäu region protects the region from flooding, particularly along the Eschach and Aitrach rivers, as well as in the Taufach-Fetzach-Moos moorland. It can hold up to one million cubic meters of water and is flooded during heavy rainfall to absorb peak flood waters. The Urlau depot monitors and maintains the facility. In June 2024, the basin was completely filled after persistent rain; the rapid deployment of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and the fire service prevented an imminent dam failure.

With rustic wooden benches and tables on an open gravel area, it offers a relaxed atmosphere for barbecues in the countryside. The barbecue area was created as part of a 72-hour project by the rural youth group and is still lovingly maintained today.

At the end of the Urlauer Sound Safari, a large marble run awaits as the crowning finale, which not only reveals the solution but also makes children's eyes light up 🎁. The station is compactly designed and offers a playful finale in which the marble makes its way through the track – a lovely conclusion to a musical journey of discovery full of puzzles and animal music lovers.

🎶 The Urlau Sound Safari is a lovingly designed music adventure trail – a real highlight for families with children and anyone who wants to discover music through play. On the approximately 2.8 km long, stroller-friendly circular trail, animal music lovers accompany visitors through a total of ten interactive stations. It's not just about listening, but also about actively experiencing: Marble runs, puzzle boxes, memory games, and creative tasks invite participation and ensure lots of animal-friendly fun along the way. A particularly nice feature: The trail is designed to be very child-friendly. At the beginning, the stations are a little further apart – ideal for getting into the mood and enjoying the surroundings. Towards the end, the stations become more densely packed and lead in a compact sequence to the destination, maintaining excitement and motivation until the very end. Those who solve all the puzzles receive a solution word that leads to a small treasure – a great bonus for little explorers 🎁. The starting point is the Urlau sports field, right next to the "Leutkirch Urlau Süd" bus stop. There's also a ball machine where you can get a ball and the Safari flyer for €1.
