The only positive thing about this pass is its relatively moderate gradient. The traffic (until the road to Andorra turns off) is horrific. Hordes of motorcyclists, trucks, cars... If you can, you should avoid this pass.

Although limited to 70 km/h, the tunnel is not passable by bicycle. There's even an electronic toll system.

Puerto de Envalira is the highest paved port in the Pyrenees with its 2,408 m altitude. It is a spectacular port that connects Andorra with France in the north of the Pyrenean country. It is clearly a MUST for all cycling and port lovers. It has 2 aspects that are very similar in hardness. In both cases, it is a very long pass with shallow slopes and some breaks, which make climbing easier. I like the Andorran side better. I leave you the profile of the port published by @cyclingcols --> http://www.cyclingcols.com/col/Envalira

Wonderful panoramic views of a Pyrenean mountain circus. As these are very deep views, the photos with the circus in the background are beautiful.

Natural parks such as Cadí-Moixeró also offer dramatic backdrops for your rides.
Yes, Lleida has over 160 easy road cycling routes perfect for beginners or families. The Lleida Plain offers flat to rolling terrain, ideal for leisurely touring. A great option is the Rio Segre - Tour from Bellver de Cerdanya, which follows the scenic Segre River valley.

Consider the demanding Three nations - Circular Andorra & France & Spain, which traverses varied landscapes and includes substantial climbs. Another excellent option is the Serra d'Ensija - Circular Tour of the Cadí Moixeró Natural Park, known for its challenging climbs and stunning mountain views.

Lleida offers road cycling opportunities throughout much of the year, but the best time depends on your preference. The plains are ideal for spring and autumn rides, avoiding the summer heat. You can cycle through historic towns, medieval villages, and spot Romanesque churches, particularly in regions like Urgell, Segarra, and the remote Vall de Boí, which is a UNESCO-listed site known for its Romanesque architecture.
While specific parking facilities vary by starting point, many towns and villages along popular routes offer public parking. For public transport, regional train and bus services connect various parts of Lleida, though policies for transporting bikes can differ. It's advisable to check with local transport providers in advance for bike-friendly options.
Yes, Lleida's cycling routes often pass through or near villages and towns where you can find cafes, restaurants, and accommodation. Especially in the more populated areas of the plains and larger Pyrenean valleys, you'll find options to refuel and rest. It's always a good idea to plan your stops, especially on longer or more remote routes.
