The Kalvebod Dæmningsvej Cycle Path is a super asphalt bike trail on the outskirts of Copenhagen. It is as flat as a pancake and is a good 3-4 kilometres long. We were spinning along it quite nicely at 25 kilometres per hour without much bother at all. A great trail, and to top it off, there are beautiful waterside views all along it.

Directly in front of the doors of our hotel, the Copenhagen Island Hotel, which lies spectacularly on an artificial island in the South Harbour, you will find the Fisketorvet Harbour Bath. We walked across the wooden jetties of the facility floating in the harbour basin and watched the locals swimming laps in the separate sports pool or jumping from the platforms into the clean sea water with a view of the opposite shore of Islands Brygge.

A small swimming area has been set up right on the bike path. Nothing to lie in the sun all day, but the perfect place for a short stop and a little dip.

The shore of the old South Harbour is highly recommended for cyclists. You ride on the opposite side of the city. This gives you a good view of Copenhagen's exciting architecture and, of course, always a good view of the water.
