Freiberg Chapel At the beginning of the history of the Freiberg Chapel lies the vow of a pilgrimage to Altötting, which a butcher from Ballertshofen made during the Thirty Years' War. From there he brought a statue of the Virgin Mary, which he placed in a small field chapel. This chapel fell victim to a lightning strike, which the statue of the Virgin Mary survived.
