Tips from the Community

April 3, 2026, Chapel Behind the Campsite

Driving to Wildschönau for 15 years, we have never seen a campsite there. The Breiteggalm slightly above is definitely worth a visit. Suuuuper nice Almwirt, cool drinks, great snack, we always like to stop by again.

A beautiful chapel to reflect. Please note that candles are not permitted here (there are artificial candles with LED lights).

Very nice, but there is no restaurant, only drinks in the fountain.

Anyone expecting a cozy hut is in the wrong place: it's packed with tour buses and large restaurants. However, the valley stretching behind the Schönangeralm is particularly charming, and after the first few hundred meters, the crowds disappear.
