Don’t forget to look down. Beneath the bridge, a clear, spring-fed creek flows over mossy stones.

A beautifully preserved private castle dating back to the 16th century. The castle itself is closed to the public, but it occasionally opens for concerts. Nearby, you’ll find Ova Church with stunning ceiling paintings (open May–September) and a small summer café serving waffles on weekends – a perfect stop on your hike.

One of Sweden's few cathedrals, built in the Gothic style in the 13th century, the interior is simply decorated and sublime in its Gothic architecture. There is a lot to discover at the pulpit and the grave monument of Erik Soop in the left aisle. Colonel Soop was very successful in the Thirty Years' War and thus received the privilege of being buried in the cathedral by the king and the parish. His wife only wanted the best for her husband and herself and commissioned the imposing monument in Holland. She is also depicted on the tombstone, but is not buried there. Since women were always buried with their husbands in the 17th century, but nothing is known of their whereabouts, the suspicion arises that they had secret affairs or fell victim to a crime. Also worth seeing: the richly decorated pulpit and the organ.
