During the demolition work of the Weserbrücke, built from 1950 to 1953 (inauguration and opening for traffic 13.10.1953), the road surface of the predecessor bridge (1898 to 1945) was exposed. The village community of Fuhlen has secured the paved area (total approx. 170 m²) and will return it to a historically restored use. The pavement consists of fairly uniform, square blue basalt stones with dimensions of 12 cm x 12 cm x 12 cm. In the vernacular, they were referred to as so-called "cat heads".
