As of 25.05.2024 the YNP has been installing large stone paths to the summit of Buckden Pike to help the ascent of this notoriously boggy area. Hopefully it continues down to the lower levels that are very peaty and wet

Buckden is the epitome of a cute, charming Yorkshire village. Very nicely placed in the valley between the two tops of Birks Fell and Buckden Pike, both of which are Nuttalls. The walk to Buckden Pike from alongside Buckden Beck is particularly spectacular with its many waterfalls. There is also a good car park with toilet facilities just on the outskirts of the village.
