Here you’ll pass over the River Don, a tranquil waterway which originates in the Grampian Mountains, specifically in the Peatlands of Aberdeenshire. It flows eastward through Aberdeenshire, passing through various towns and eventually empties into the North Sea at Aberdeen.

Café 21 at Dyce railway station is a great spot for coffee, brunch (all day breakfast!) and lunch. Lovely cakes, scones and tray bakes also available. The staff are always very friendly. There is cycle parking right by the outdoor tables and this is visible from inside the cafe too.

The visitor center has toilets, snacks and a small exhibition. It is open daily 10-16:30 April to October. There is a charge for the car park (£3 for 3 hours, shorter and longer stays available too). There are a range of walks you can do of varying lengths. Ranging from short woodland walks, to the Bennachie range and the Gordon Way.

Forest Farm is an organic dairy. They opened their gelateria in 2020 and it's expanded since. Amazing ice cream to authentic Italian recipes made with local ingredients. You can even watch the cows being milked. They also service great coffee, home bakes and of course you can buy milk.

Great cafe at Dyce train station. Right at the start/end of the Formartine and Buchan cycle path along the old railway line. Love visiting for brunch. There is indoor and outdoor seating and space for cycles. Very friendly staff too.
