At various intervals, there are remains of old water wells along the water main. These were built perpendicular to the water main. There used to be a path next to the main, but it no longer exists. It was forbidden to walk on the water main. This was only allowed during the Bulgarian occupation in 1912-1913.

If you want to get a view of Kavala from above, you can't miss this hike. The way to the top is mostly paved and the last few meters you walk up a nice path. If you have enough, you can walk back down from here or you can complete the loop. I highly recommend it. Very nice trail

A beautiful section to finish off the Kavala circuit. You cross water bridges, fig trees and sprouting bushes. Insects and bees do the daily work and buzz to themselves.
