When you turn right here, and you take the trouble to walk a few extra kilometers, you arrive at the Katholm Skov, an old manor farm. Private property, but you can look around outside while walking. As long as you respect the signs privately. So you can't get in, but it's beautiful from the outside too. So really worth it. Just like us, you can of course also drive past it after completing the walking tour.

A great section of the trail. With luck you will see birds nesting on the wall and lizards.

Rugaard was founded in 1579 when nobleman Hans Axelsen Arnfeldt bought land from the Crown, including farms in the villages of Attrup, Rosmus, Balle, Hyllested and Rove. The castle is at the top of a slope down to the lake, N'rresa, with an easterly view of the lake and the Kattegat. The seas that ended after the compaction glass of Ice Age shields are the former sea bays that became lakes when the land stopped after the compaction of Ice Age plates.
