Historian Tarcisio Venuti dates its construction to around the 14th-15th century, although the first documentary mention of it dates back to 1533. The building underwent a radical transformation after the earthquakes of 1511 and 1513, inspired by the Slovenian style of the Škofija Loka school, like many other small churches in the area, but with a style unparalleled for the beauty of the statuettes, placed in the keystones and lateral lunettes, with figurative corbels supported by elegant columns. It was further restored in the 18th century; in 1777, Francesco Colussi created the altarpiece with the Nativity in the center and Saints Peter and Paul on the sides. The 17th-century wooden altar has an altarpiece depicting the Virgin Enthroned with Child; At the base, in an oval, is the Adoration of the Magi, painted by Girolamo Ridolfi da Cividale in 1585.
