The Elizabeth Lake Trail is one of the longest trails in the trail system. It runs along the north and west sides of Elizabeth Lake and features benches, picnic tables, and floating piers along the way.

Elizabeth Lake is a scenic wetland lake located on the south side of Cranbrook. The lake is surrounded by the Elizabeth Lake Bird Sanctuary, a protected area known for its excellent birdwatching opportunities. The area also offers a flat walking trail and boardwalk loop around the wetlands. Visitors can often spot ducks, geese, turtles, and other wildlife throughout the year.

Mount Baker Downhill Trailhead is down the dirt Gold Creek Road, park in a dirt lot just off the main road, and begin your hike there. There are no pit toilets or water fountains here.
