The trail doesn't go through the tunnel. This trail isn't rideable for less experienced riders; it's not that easy.

From Prodalp you can take the chairlift and your bike to the Prodkamm mountain station and from there downhill back to Prodalp on a nice flow trail. It cost me two ice cream sundaes in addition to the lift ticket because I parked my partner in the garden restaurant during this time.

The most popular destination is BikerBerg Flumserberg, known for its dedicated infrastructure and diverse trails like the Red Fox Trail Flumserberg and Red Rock Trail, Flumserberg. Beyond dedicated parks, the region offers extensive natural trail networks in areas like Pizol, Rheintal, Sargans, and Walenstadt, catering to various skill levels.
Yes, BikerBerg Flumserberg is an excellent choice for beginners and families. It features trails like the 3.8 km long Blue Salamander Trail, which is ideal for beginners with its moderate slopes, over 40 curves, and small jumps. The BlueBunny trail is also perfect for children and those new to biking.
For experienced riders, BikerBerg Flumserberg offers the moderately difficult RedFox and RedRock trails. Additionally, the Pizol region provides a significant network of mountain biking trails with varied terrain, including more challenging options. The area around Sargans also features demanding singletrack trails with significant elevation changes.
At BikerBerg Flumserberg, you'll find a BikerShop, BikerCamping, and the Prodalp Mountain Restaurant for refreshments. There's also a convenient bike wash at the Flumserberg valley station. Other regions like Pizol offer lift access for bikes, making it easier to reach higher starting points.
The region is generally great for biking during warmer months. Sargans is particularly appealing in spring when higher altitudes might still have snow, offering access to first-class single-trail tours. Walenstadt is ideal during warmer months, allowing you to combine rides with cooling off in Lake Walen.
Yes, many areas offer convenient lift access. At BikerBerg Flumserberg, trails are easily accessible via the Prodalp-Express gondola and Prodkamm chairlift. In Pizol, mountain bikes can be transported safely on all Pizolbahnen lifts, including gondola and chairlifts, to reach higher starting points.
Absolutely. Pizol is renowned for its panoramic views over the St. Gallen Rhine Valley and the Churfirsten mountains. Walenstadt offers stunning views of Lake Walen and the Churfirsten. You can also find notable viewpoints along trails like the Singletrack in the Sardona Tectonic Arena.
Sarganserland offers a wide range of outdoor activities. You can explore numerous hiking trails, from easy strolls to challenging multi-day tours. For more information on hiking, check out the Hiking in Sarganserland guide or the Easy hikes in Sarganserland guide. Road cycling is also popular, with routes like the 'Mapraggsee – Rock Tunnel loop from Bad Ragaz' available in the Road Cycling Routes in Sarganserland guide.
The Rheintal (Rhine Valley) region is ideal for bikers who appreciate long, scenic rides through varied terrain. It offers a mix of easy and challenging routes, often traversing picturesque villages, forests, and fields. Many routes provide views of the Alpstein massif and cultural highlights like Vaduz Castle.
The region is rich in natural beauty. At BikerBerg Flumserberg, the Red Rock Trail takes you across Alpine meadows and through forests, highlighted by an impressive red rock face. The Singletrack in the Sardona Tectonic Arena offers unique geological formations, and Walenstadt provides dramatic fjord-like lake scenery.
While Flumserberg is popular, exploring the extensive natural trail networks in areas like Rheintal, Sargans, or Walenstadt can offer a more secluded experience. These regions provide a diverse range of trails that are less purpose-built and often allow for longer, more immersive rides through nature.
At BikerBerg Flumserberg, trails vary in length. The easy Blue Salamander Trail is 3.8 km long, while the BlueBunny trail is 1.8 km. The RedFox and RedRock trails offer longer, more adventurous descents, contributing to the park's 13 kilometers of dedicated trails.
