Bellmann's Spring

Highlight • Natural Monument

Bellmann's fountain was once built as a meeting place for larger companies. It is reminiscent of the bird catcher Georg Marcus Pöllmann, who was bitten on 31 August 1866 near this fountain by a common viper and died of it. Over time, however, the name Pöllmann changed in Bellmann due to the local dialect.
For decades, the fountain has been one of the most important destinations in Zwickau's city forest right up to the present day.

Voest-Alpin Trail

Highlight • Trail

Beautiful trail that can be driven flowig. Smaller and larger waves and many curves are lined up and you get something to do in the small forest. From the main road, the entrance is to the left of the fence or immediately after the small staircase to the left. So you can use the natural course of the terrain.

If you turn right after the stairs, there is a parallel path through the grove, but it has less to offer in terms of driving technique. 💪😉 Shortly before the end of the grove, both paths lead together. You can therefore also drive it as a lap.

Fuchsberg Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Single trail from the Fuchsberg into the Sahn with some small obstacles and jumps.

Also a recommendation for hikers to avoid the switchbacks above the cream park (MTB traffic is expected on the trail!).

Seems to have been created recently (May 2020) by dedicated enduro enthusiasts.
(In April I tried to cut my way through the forest here and got stuck in the thicket. 😃)

In 1901, the Erzgebirge branch association in Zwickau began designing the area around the Bellmann fountain. The area was planted with oak trees and the Bellmann hut was built thanks to donations from a member. The place was planned for gatherings of larger groups. The first approved celebrations took place in 1909. In 1930, the grounds were redesigned according to plans by the landscape architect Paul Lorenz. The inspiration for this came from the local Erzgebirge branch association, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in the same year. A memorial stone erected on this occasion still commemorates this today. In the 1970s, the complex was given its current appearance. The elaborate path with wooden bridges, walkways and steps was replaced by a simple staircase that leads from the square down to the spring. Set of stairs with a drop at the bottom - from the wall on the left The front wheel tends to end up in the rain gutter, which is probably not good for the suspension fork 😬

Small bike park created by the parish in Beiersdorf. Very clean and civilized, open to all, with small free registration by form in the vicarage, ... Distances are not long but it is enough to practice jumping. Stick "Hard" and jump ramp are just awesome :o
