View of Kofel and Oberammergau

Highlight • Viewpoint

Below you, a gentle valley opens up all the way down to Oberammergau, while to your right the summit ridge of Sonnenberg, Brunnberg and Vorderer Rappenkopf stretches into the sky. Also clearly visible: the Kofel, which is also nicknamed the "Matterhorn of Oberammergau".

Rotmoos Switchback Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The trail is pretty exposed, but hardly blocked. Therefore perfect to ride, even with a hardtail, as long as you are free from giddiness and can get around switchbacks. In a pinch you can also push through the curves. :)

Farchanter Steig Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Beautiful and challenging trail that is really fun if you can handle it. Partly rooty and stony, but can also be driven with appropriate caution in the rain, but I can only recommend this to very few people here. The trail runs through a small stream below, so be prepared for some splashing water 😛

Neuglägeralm Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

So for me as a technically mediocre talented mountain biker, the trail was 80% not drivable. I "drove" him (rather walked) in the direction suggested by Komoot. I personally would not be long here with the MTB. Best regards to the unknown fellow campaigners who even pushed the trail :)

Hochwildfeuerberg S3 Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Take good care of you! In the upper part still S2, the trail is actually largely S3 because of the steepness and exposure. The photos are more from the top section, I guess. In addition to the stream, the trail becomes so narrow and steep that an oncoming hiker can no longer be avoided. Directly next to the trail, there is a steep slope of 5 to 10m through the scrub down to the stream bed, here you should be free from giddiness. At about 980m then garnished by a staircase that leads through a steep and narrow left curve. Also nasty: the section, which is still afloat, is suddenly steep and narrow, so don't take up too much speed. If you cannot drive S3 safely and in a controlled manner, it is anything but a flow trail! If possible, better visit on foot.

In my opinion, this has nothing to do with a trail. Unless you understand trail to mean pushing your bike, then of course it's a highlight ;P. I can't recommend it!!!

Great trail, probably the hardest one around Garmisch. Very good bike handling required in my opinion

I also have mixed feelings about the trail. It wasn't really any fun. However, if you want to go back from the Kuhalm towards Wallgau and don't want to take the detour back via Eschenlohe, that's the only way you have to go. I drove up to the Kuhalm via Eschenlohe and didn't want to go back.

If you drive everything without getting off, you drive really well. Sweeps that can only be done with converted ones. Drops of the higher variety. It's fun... but you also want to have trained a long time beforehand.

Upwards the trail is certified with S4. Rightly so. There are several fallen tree trunks across the path, which is not always easy to spot. From Ri Kuhalm to Walchensee there is a distance of about 1.3km (40min) - and probably only recommended for an outstanding mountain biker. Really sweaty and enriched by an experience.
