Hornissen Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The Hornissen Trail was opened on October 26, 2021 as the first official mountain bike single trail in the central Linz area. The 1.2 kilometer and approximately 200 meter long MTB trail was created by hand by the local mountain bike community in several hundred hours of work.

The Hornissen Trail requires a certain amount of trail experience and riding technique: The difficulty is rated "red" or S1 to S2 on the single trail scale. The winding route makes it challenging and fun for both trail beginners and advanced riders. While the first section leads through somewhat steeper terrain, the route becomes flatter and flowier towards the bottom. All rocks integrated into the natural route can be bypassed, and terrain edges and jumps can also be rolled over. Please note: In wet or wintry conditions, the technical demands increase considerably due to the slippery surface.

Bikepark Wurbauerkogel

Highlight • MTB Park

Unfortunately couldn't ride it myself but the three trails with different levels of difficulty looked very promising. You can take the gondola up and down. The trails are beautifully laid out in the forest and at the end all the trails are put together and there are tables and many other jumps that are a lot of fun

Fahrnau Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

⚠️⚠️⚠️ Warning 📢: Very steep, rooty, and rocky. Steeply sloping terrain directly next to the trail. Be prepared to push your bike a few times, or bring the necessary skills, equipment, and courage! Parts are completely washed out, with slippery patches! Definitely not suitable for trekking bikes or similar! Not suitable for uphill riding.

Bike Arena Obertraun

Highlight • MTB Park

The round is very beautiful by nature ... it goes past 2 large lakes and through beautiful forests and over small streams. The Sarsteinumrundung is part of the Dachsteinrunde and very suitable as a day trip. With 50km and just under 1,000 meters you have to bring some condition but technically the tour is very easy to drive. Relatively towards the end, there is an XC park in the Bike Arena, where you can have fun on trails again. Highly recommended!

Feldkirchen Bathing Lake

Highlight • Lake

There are four swimming lakes here, one with water skiing, one as nudist, one with an extra area for children and one normal. There is also a facility for BMX or normal bikes, fitness equipment, mini golf, playgrounds, ... really something for everyone ... toilets, changing rooms and snacks are also available. Adjacent is a campsite and a fish lake ... really a fabulous place to chill out or be active

KABONG North Section

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

31 km of the KABONG (name of the MTB route in the villages of Kronberg, Attersee/Attegau - Nussdorf, Berg, Oberwang and St. Georgen) pass here in the north, marked including the Lichtenberg observation tower. According to official planning, the route itself starts in Oberwang, but can be driven clockwise at various points (preferably).
It is designed and named as a mountain bike route, but leads over many mountains (mountains) on tar and gravel paths. Anyone who likes that and is in good physical condition or uses e-support will get their money's worth here. If you are looking for challenging single trails, you will find one or the other path off the route, but MTB riders will be fined to use it in 2022 - a shame!! (see photo) So the round offers only a lot of altitude and great views.

The trail is currently listed by Komoot as one of "The 20 Top Bike Parks in Upper Austria". That's complete nonsense, of course. Beware!

The trails have now been upgraded to the next level. Due to poor data management, Komoot contains numerous inaccuracies that are unfortunately not being updated by the site operators, i.e., Komoot. You can find accurate data on our dedicated website: https://roadlberg.uppertrails.at The routing function on Komoot also provides numerous inaccuracies and information about closed trails. As the trail operators, we recommend using reputable products and portals for your tour planning (Brouter, Trailforks, the local tourism board, Outdooractive, etc.).

It's simply not possible to ride uphill. If you like pushing and carrying your bike, this is the place for you. And if you're particularly masochistic, you can lug your e-bike up here. 😉
