PIZOLGIPFEL
Zum Pizolgipfel auf 2844 m ü. M. führt seit 2012 eine neue alpine Route. Diese ist aus Sicherheitsgründen vom Pizolgletscher in den Felsen verlegt worden und blau-weiss markiert. An Steinschlag-exponierten Stellen wurden zudem Stahlseile als Handlauf angebracht.


Auf der neuen, attraktiven Route lässt sich der Pizolgipfel mit seiner faszinierenden Rundumsicht ohne Gletscherüberquerung besteigen. Der Gletscher hat stark an Masse verloren und wird bis 2030 ganz verschwunden sein. Die Route am Gletscher vorbei ist aber weiterhin recht steil und teilweise auch ausgesetzt.

Den neu markierten Weg erreichst Du mit den Gondel- und Sesselbahnen Wangs – Furt – Gaffia bis zur Pizolhütte. Dort beginnt der Aufstieg zur Wildseelücke. In der Lücke angekommen geniesst Du einen grandiosen Blick auf den Wildsee, den Pizolgipfel und die Grauen Hörner. Entlang des Wildsees geht es hinauf Richtung Pizolsattel und anschliessend auf den Gipfel.

Im Süden des Pizolgipfels geht es hinunter ins Calfeisental, im Nordwesten liegt das Weisstannental und im Osten das Taminatal. Die benachbarten Gipfel sind die Lavtinahörner (2’770 m ü. M.) und der Hochwart (2’770 m ü. M.) im Norden, die Wildseehörner (2’690 m ü. M.) im Nordosten, das Zanaihorn (2’821 m ü. M.) im Südosten sowie das Sazmartinhorn (2’728 m ü. M.) im Südwesten.
