The history of Reichertshausen dates back to the Middle Ages. A noble seat with its own Hofmark (manorial estate) and extensive agricultural holdings already existed here early on. Over the centuries, the lordship changed hands several times between different Bavarian noble families. Reichertshausen thus developed into a regional administrative and economic center along the Ilm. The original castle or Hofmark complex was gradually expanded in the early modern period and developed into a representative palace. Extensive renovations, particularly in the 17th and 18th centuries, gave the complex its present-day appearance. At the same time, farm buildings, stables, and gardens were expanded. For many generations, Reichertshausen Castle remained closely linked to the agricultural use of the surrounding areas. The Hofmark shaped the life of the place for centuries. With the political changes of the 19th century, the Hofmark lost its former administrative function. However, the castle remained inhabited and was continuously maintained. Various restorations and modernizations also took place in the 20th century, largely preserving the historical character of the complex. Today, Reichertshausen Castle is one of the prominent historical noble seats in the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. The grounds are private and unfortunately not publicly accessible! https://www.schloesser-burgen-ruinen.de/bayern/landkreis-pfaffenhofen-an-der-ilm/schloss-reichertshausen/
