Here, the Landjugend Radegast built a beautiful bicycle rest area with a shelter and a charging station for e-bikes, right on the Elbe Cycle Path. The project took place as part of a "72-hour campaign" (a social campaign by the Federation of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ) and its associations, which promotes such and similar projects throughout Germany). There are three wooden benches in the shelter and a map of the region hangs on the wall. Next to the hut is a table with two benches. The charging station is operated with 100% green electricity and offers 4 Schuko plugs, if you have your charger with you, you can charge your e-bike (or your smartphone) here. Since the rest area is roughly at the level of the dyke, you also have a beautiful, wide view from here, all the way to Boizenburg (you can see the Boizenburg church tower from here). A really great project, I think it's nice that more and more such rest areas with charging stations are being built in the district of Lüneburg, my home district (Lüchow-Dannenberg) can take a lesson from that, because there isn't one in our district yet only public charging station, except for a few private individuals who provide electricity and sockets for this. Since I often pass here on my bike tours on the Elbe Cycle Path, I will certainly stop here more often and use the charging station. Since I often go on day trips of up to 200 km (with the pedelec), such charging stations are very welcome.
