The Ammergasse once housed the city's tanners and dyers. The Ammerkanal served them in their craft. At the same time, it was also Tübingen's sewer, but at the same time also a helpful water source for the fire brigade. The house entrances along the Ammerkanal are mostly reached via small footbridges or bridges that span the canal.

As a descent, it's already a bit demanding: steep gradient, tight corners and partly dilapidated surface with nasty bumps

Ideal resting place with great refreshments (ice cream and drinks) at reasonably fair prices.

Beautiful cycle paths and nature in the Tübingen suburbs. The entire district in the area of the Ammer estuary has been redesigned and developed.

I happened to hike past on one of the open Sundays. The friendly gentleman from the support association pointed out to me that men should wear headwear in the cemetery to respect Jewish tradition. I will certainly go there again soon for a guided Sunday tour. Gladly with a hat.
