St. Engelbert Church St. Engelbert Church is the Baroque centerpiece of the town of St. Ingbert. Presumably designed by the architect Friedrich Stengel, it is one of the town's three landmarks. The church features a historically significant organ by Schlimbach and Sons. The first St. Ingbert church fell victim to the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War. In 1755, Count Friedrich Ferdinand von der Leyen built "St. Engelbert" in the heart of the town in a simple Baroque style, presumably based on plans by Friedrich Stengel. As a token of appreciation for the donations, the only exterior decoration was the beautifully executed large coat of arms of Count Friedrich Ferdinand von der Leyen and his wife Charlotte von Hatzfeldt above the portal.
