Nordre Gråfjell is a minor subsidiary of Styggeværshaugen and forms part of the ridge system that arcs around and embraces the beautiful lake in Helvetesbotn. It's one of the most spectacular sections of the Romsdalstien long-distance trail and can be linked with Søndre Gråfjell and Helvetestinden in good weather. The views across to Helvetestinden, Nebba, Sjøvdøla and Nyheitinden are glorious.

Mjølvafjellet is the highest point on the Romsdalseggen Ridge, one of Norway's great ridge routes. At 3,990 feet (1,216 m) it affords stupendous views across to Åndalsnes, the Trollveggen cliff and the Trolltinder peaks, as well as down to the meandering Rauma.
