The overnight stay at the Castello was THE highlight of our trip. It was quirky and unique, as the elderly countess also gave a private tour of her castle. A fortified castle with 1,000 years of history, it's privately run. The rooms are furnished as they were 100 years ago, but with a private bathroom. The pool, like the restaurant, is set in an "enchanted" castle park. The restaurant is excellent, as the countess also serves and, alongside the staff, looks after the guests. The whole experience is quirky and unique.

You can enjoy the beautiful surroundings not only by day but also at night. The entrance fee to the castle and the climb to the tower are definitely worth it. Magnificent views all around.

The interminable climb to Radicofani is well rewarded by the beauty of the village and the incredible landscape that can be enjoyed from the top of the Rocca itself: to the north, the gaze wanders over the Tuscan hills in the direction of Siena, while to the south one can guess the lake of Bolsena. Don't miss the opportunity to spot the beautiful couple of horses, one white and the other one bay, that can often be seen placidly grazing near road climbing to the fortress.

Beautiful village located on a panoramic hill on the slopes of Mount Cetona, at 582 meters above sea level, in the southernmost point of the province of Siena, where the last offshoots of the Tuscan hills and the engravings of the gullies connect with the landscape of Umbria and Lazio , close to the Cetona and Amiata mountains, and in view of the Trasimeno lakes, to the east, and Bolsena, to the south. Scenographic position, and also very favorable from a geographical point of view, having been for centuries a resting place for those moving between Rome and Florence (San Casciano is more or less halfway).
