Riding through the valley, constantly slightly descending so you don't have to pedal much, this is pure joy. In between mountains left and right, the river next to you and groups of sheeps cheering you on. One of my favourite sections during 3 weeks of bikepacking Iceland.

Leaving the highlands behind, this descent leads into a valley straight out of a fairy tale. The further you descend, the more the little stream grows into a rushing river.

The Sprengisandur in Iceland goes right through the desert-like highlands. It is very impressive to drive there. Barren landscape, special light, unusual colors of the sand, some of which is of volcanic origin. This section is very sandy in places, so we had to push the bike from time to time.

Much better and more relaxed than the Blue Lagoon or the Secret Lagoon. Also quite expensive but much emptier. There are 2 bars and lots of benches and tables. 2 pools with different temperatures (38°-41°) and a cold pot with 11°. There is also a Finnish sauna and a wonderful view of the fjord.
