The Rennbachweiher near Dürnast is nestled in a water-rich floodplain landscape near the Rennbach and the Haidenaab. It measures approx. 750 m in length and 6.6 ha of water surface. Currently, the Rennbachweiher belongs to the waters of the Weiden i. d. OPF. fishing club and can only be fished by members with a valid fishing license. Fish species such as carp, tench, zander, pike, and catfish live in the pond. One side of the water offers several fishing spots directly on the bank under tall pine trees. A narrow path along the bank leads almost all the way around the pond, and benches are also available in several places. An orange marking on the bank indicates how far the fishing area extends - after that, a nature reserve begins and fishing is no longer permitted. Lighting open fires is prohibited, as indicated by several signs. Fishery supervisors from the club regularly check for compliance with proper use. 🐟🌳🦢
