it's great to ride along the side streets, near the airport and then next to the stud farm towards the forests in Giszowiec and there it's close to the Murckowskie forests, I recommend it!!!

The pond complex is located in the southern part of the city, in the Dąb region, within the Chrzanów forest complex, Chrzanów Forest District. The reservoirs are located in the area of the former "Tarka" leisure and recreation center, which now belongs to Kompania Węglowa. Despite the fact that the years of its splendor are behind it, it does not lose its attractiveness, if only because of its biodiversity, which is richer here, compared to many other places in Jaworzno. The presence of 4 ponds, separated from each other by dikes and the surrounding forests, are the conditions for the growth of biodiversity in this area. https://www.slaskie.travel/poi/475029/stawy-belnik-na-terenie-osrodka-tarka

Dziećkowice Reservoir (Imieliński Reservoir) - a post-mining reservoir located between Mysłowice and Oświęcim, next to Imielin. It is located right on the border of the Śląskie and Małopolskie voivodships, it was built in 1985. The dam is 7 meters high, the maximum depth is 12 meters, and its area is 7.3 km², while the total capacity is 52.8 million m³, the average width is about 1.8 kilometers, the length of the reservoir is 4.3 kilometers. This reservoir was created in the mid-1970s, in an excavation that is a remnant of the former sand exploitation area, and was used in mining for backfilling purposes, for the Maczki-Bór mine in Sosnowiec. The mine was extracting sand to fill the mine workings. Earlier in this area there was a forest with many ponds and very clean spring water - the so-called riparian forest. It is powered mainly by water, discharged from the distant system of the Skawa - Soła rivers. It is one of the cleanest reservoirs in the Silesia Province and serves as a drinking water reservoir. https://polskie-jeziora.pl/jezioro-dzieckowice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg5iFl15AcE

While popular spots like Hubertus and Trzy Stawy can get busy, the broader Hubertus Ponds complex includes several smaller, more overgrown ponds that are primarily used by anglers and walkers, offering a quieter atmosphere. The Bielnik Ponds, located within a forest complex, also provide a more tranquil setting for nature appreciation away from the main crowds.
Yes, some lakes offer winter activities. The Hubertus Ponds are known to host 'walruses' (winter swimmers) during the colder months. While specific winter facilities might be limited, the well-maintained paths around areas like Trzy Stawy are suitable for year-round use by walkers and runners, offering a different perspective of the landscape.
Dziećkowice Reservoir is unique for being one of the cleanest water reservoirs in the Silesian Voivodeship, serving as a crucial source of drinking water. It's also a significant post-mining reservoir with a rich history, created from a former sand exploitation area. Its ecological importance is highlighted by its role as a birdwatching haven and a venue for sailing competitions.
Many of the lakes in the region, including Dziećkowice Reservoir and the Hubertus Ponds, originated from flooded excavations after sand extraction, which was used for backfilling mining operations. This industrial past has shaped the landscape, transforming former mining areas into valuable recreational and ecological sites.
The best time to visit is generally during the warmer months, from late spring to early autumn (May to September), when all recreational facilities are open, and conditions are ideal for swimming, cycling, and other outdoor activities. However, areas like Trzy Stawy offer well-maintained paths suitable for year-round use, and Dziećkowice Reservoir is particularly good for birdwatching during autumn migration.
