Beautiful palace, just a few minutes from the castle ruins across the street. While you have to pay to stay here, you can walk around the grounds. This building (guesthouse) has a long history, but its current form was given to it in 1946.

A magical place with an incredible history: these ruins are considered the oldest secular building in the whole of Silesia. Construction began here in the 12th century with many reconstructions over the centuries. The castle was destroyed in 1646 during the Thirty Years' War. Stunning gothic castle, the oldest in Silesia and one of the oldest in Poland. Its first incarnation was most probably built around 1160 by Bolesław I the Tall, the Duke of Wrocław. The cylindrical so-called "bergfried" tower we can see today was constructed in the 15th Century. It had a quite tumultuous history which was sadly interrupted by the Thirty Years' War when it was besieged, stormed and eventually blown up. Since then it stands in ruins and some restoration work has been only carried out after 2009. It might be tricky to cycle up the castle but even a walk is well worth it.
