Protected since 2005, Hattens Nature Reserve packs a lot of landscape features into its small area, including cascades, wetlands, bogs, rapids and more. Birders will want to bring their binoculars to try to spot the capercaillies, hazel grouses, black woodpeckers and great spotted woodpeckers that inhabit the reserve. There is an information board near the car park, as well as toilet facilities, a picnic table, boardwalks fire pits and a shelter within the reserve's area.
