A worthwhile hike to the summit of Monte Arcuentu. You have to search for the narrow paths at times, a bit of an adventure 😉 ...

Descent from Arcuenteddu is barely a path. Avoid if possible.

It's great for spending a little more time up here. There's plenty of wood, and barbecuing is always fun and delicious.

Unfortunately, the descent from Monte Arcuentu is difficult to find. Overgrown paths and partially destroyed by wild boars...a request 🤷🏻♀️

The thin ridge of Mount Arcuenteddu, 603 meters high, is less famous than nearby Arcuentu, but just as fascinating. Already from Mount Arcuentu you can admire this spire. The Sardinian name "Acuentu" means "Arch or door of the wind," while "Arcuenteddu" indicates a smaller arch, thanks to the ending "eddu".

Mount Arcuentu takes its name from the arched shape of the peak which, seen from Piscinas and Scivu, resembles a Dolomite tower. The imposing mountain extends for eight kilometers parallel to the wild and beautiful beaches of the Costa Verde. On the top, among the dense woods, there are the remains of ancient buildings where Fra Nazareno da Pula, a Capuchin friar known for his alleged miraculous healings, lived in 1982.
