A beautiful, peaceful spot to rest, to sit and think or to think of nothing at all and just listen to the gurgling, babbling River Windrush. Tables, chairs and benches are provided for exactly this purpose. I got there at 8pm on a warm, summer evening just as the sun was descending behind the Taunton Dovecote. A perfect way to end this walk.

This section of the walk passes through and around land usedfor training racehorses. I had just walked through two fields with two horses in each field. They all seemed pleased to see me. Trotted up to me, nuzzled my hand and walked with me across their field. Once again I fell short - didn't bring any carrots or applesπ And then I met these two characters at the top of the hill who obviously hadn't got the message that I didn't have any treats. They were happy to pose for photo's anyway π
