A great route but some sections are extremely muddy but great fun. Toft hill climb is one section that really works legs, slow and steady wins out

Regularly explore this end of the Vale of Belvoir lane network and stop at the 'Dirty Duck' pub for lunch. See the duck ornament on the roof and you will understand the name!

Sometimes known as the "Lady of the Vale", it is a large church which has the 2nd highest spire in Leicestershire (at 212 feet). The oldest part of the church dates from the 12th century, with additions and alterations made during the following three centuries, including the nave and spire in the 15th century. There are two gargoyles on the south transept.

Half buried in the hedgerow are the remains of a Second World War air raid shelter. It is a shelter of the Stanton precast concrete segment type. The steel reinforced concrete sections were bolted together, making a shelter of any length. The type was favoured by the Air Ministry. Why is it there in a hedgerow miles from an airfield?
