Big lake with lots of places to sit, there’s also a cafe nearby too.

Large scenic lake with a boating area and fishing spots. Woodland trails to the bottom edge.

Lovely small viewing tower with its own cafe and small woods - Castle Wood. Part of much larger Oxleas Woods.

Know to locals as β€˜the secret’. Lots of great tracks and trails branching in all directions from the cafe.

The parks and woodlands around Eltham often have nice views over London.

Just below Severn Droogs Castle, in a clearing above a hilly field, is the rose garden. Jack wood is to the left -Castle Wood to the right; a large ornate brick step system is directly behind that climbs to the castle.

Once you’re on the Thames Path past Erith Yacht Club - the first stretch is Crayford Ness; the single track is rough going … and gets tougher as you get toward the Saltings. A couple of trails lead down closer to the waters edge. Great views.

Sweet narrow downhill track running from the crossroads at the end of the Salt Marshes. Left fork goes to Crawford Creek, straight on is Moat Lane, which leads to Slade Green. Howbury Farm. This includes the walls, a moat and the remains of a 19th oast house. Howbury Moated Grange. This is a 12th moated manor site once the home of a Tudor official, later rebuilt. The Norman moat encloses the manor house - a 17th building now damaged beyond repair. The wall of the moat is still there but the drawbridge was replaced by brick one in 1778 which has now collapsed.
