Enjoy the tranquility of the monastery pond and stroll along the shore of the simple pond or in the adjacent woods. Afterwards, how about a picnic with fresh bread from the monastery bakery?

There used to be a triple gallows there, and since last year, a few meters from the path toward the Scheppach Chapel, a small replica of a gallows has been erected there by the Burgwalden History Team following last year's Cultural Awards ceremony. Convicts from all over the region were brought to Burgwalden to be executed. A triple gallows was erected in Burgwalden for this purpose. At the execution site in the south, today's Gallows Hill, people were executed by hanging or sword over the next 250 years.

Unfortunately, due to the water shortage, the ponds were not as beautiful as usual.

Beautiful, really old oak trees with beautiful branches line the paths. In autumn, whether it's sunny or misty, it creates a unique atmosphere.
