Caution: The dikes on both sides of the Ammer River are dead ends. There is no way to continue to Diessen from here, nor is there any way to reach the lake. The dikes end at a break in the road or in thick vegetation.

Walking across the dam (dangerous weak point) is definitely not recommended. It's a dead end and a strictly protected area; there's not much to see. There are much nicer views of Hohenpeißenberg.
