It is located on the Margó Ede promenade directly on the lake shore. The sculpture is made of red sandstone and was created by István Fáskerti. The heart symbolizes the connection of people with Lake Balaton and is considered a landmark of the city. The special feature: Through the heart-shaped opening, you can see the famous Tihany Abbey on the opposite peninsula in clear weather. The sculpture is a popular photo spot, especially at sunset. The Marcali Museum is the most important museum of cultural history in the city of Marcali and is located in the cultural center „Kulturális Korzó“. Its origins date back to the 1960s, when schoolchildren began collecting historical objects from the region. The museum was opened in 1972 and is today the only regional museum of its kind in Somogy County. The permanent exhibitions showcase archaeological finds, ethnographic objects, city history, as well as art and cultural history collections.
