The Catholic parish church of St. Peter in Lieser, a wine-growing village on the Middle Moselle, is a cross-vaulted hall building dating from 1782. The south-facing, unplastered tower was rebuilt by 1861 after a devastating fire on May 25, 1860, which also melted the valuable old bells.[1] The church is built on a rocky outcrop and towers over the lower village. Along with the war memorial commemorating the fallen of the First World War and the crypt chapel of the von Schorlemer family in the cemetery behind it, it is a listed building.
