The Elster Millrace branches off from the White Elster River near Profen and flows for 29 km before rejoining the White Elster at Großzschocher. Due to mining-related changes in the southern Leipzig area, it is now called the Profen Millrace, which is 18.5 km long and flows from Profen via Elstertrebnitz, Pegau, and Großstorkwitz to Kleindalzig, where it empties into the so-called Concrete Elster. https://www.leipzig-lese.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/oertlichkeiten/moenche-muehlen-mahlprodukte/

The Pegau town hall stood on this site until 1561. After the construction of a more impressive town hall at today's market square, the property passed into private ownership. The current building was constructed in 1744. Until 1945, its owners were merchants and physicians. As the town's most prestigious house, it served as overnight accommodation for Emperor Napoleon I after the Battle of Großgörschen (May 3, 1813) and for Tsar Alexander I of Russia before the Battle of Leipzig (October 15, 1813). The property was acquired by the town council in 2005. https://www.stadt-pegau.de/tax_kategorie/denkmaeler/

This building was erected in 1560, along with the town hall, as a cookshop. Cookshops served to provide poor residents with hot meals at low prices. In the 19th century, the town's police force, including jail cells, was moved into the building (hence the name). After the Second World War, the building was used for various purposes (library, egg collection point, etc.). The Renaissance building was renovated in 1990. Today, in addition to apartments, the building once again houses the town library. https://www.stadt-pegau.de/tax_kategorie/denkmaeler/
