Shortly before the end of World War II, on April 4, 1945, fighter pilot Karl Göller, originally from Wallau im Taunus, crashed his fighter plane in the "Vockenberg" forest between Kützbrunn and Zimmern. He was hit and shot down by American air defenses near Grünsfeld. Göller had been flying an attack on the Americans in his Messerschmidt ME109 fighter plane when he was hit by their anti-aircraft fire. He attempted to escape by parachuting, detaching the canopy. However, the rescue attempt was unsuccessful, and Göller crashed with the plane and suffered a fatal accident. Source: Wikipedia

The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Lawrence sits atop a small hill in the heart of Paimar. From the outside, the building appears more like a simple village church. Visit the village square and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Refresh yourself at the fountain, feel the different surfaces at the foot station, and relax. Afterwards, it's worth taking a walk to the church on the hill – there, not only a historic site awaits you, but also a beautiful view of the village and the surrounding area. Perfect for a little break in nature!
