Over the centuries, the mill changed hands several times. During the Palatinate War of Succession, it was burned down by the French and later rebuilt. In 1882, the mill burned down again, but was rebuilt and remained in operation until 2012. Today, the Fronmühle is a historic building and a popular tourist destination in the region.

This biotope near the new Rehbach section was created with great effort and a lot of money – among other things, for a special water quality that can only arise in a (nature) protected area. Even if this area looks idyllic, it should NOT be entered (not even by dogs!), so that precisely the flora and fauna for which the biotope was established can develop. So: It’s best to stick to the existing paths and the new bridges!
