The ferry was first mentioned in documents as early as the 13th century – it was an important connection for merchants, pilgrims, and travelers on the Rhine, served as a means of transport for people, animals, and goods, and was of great importance especially for local farmers and winemakers.

Well, "rustic" someone writes. Maybe so, but gastronomy also means that you have to keep up with how times change, otherwise the future will be over at some point. The selection of food and drinks could be improved *a lot* without completely changing the character of the hut. Here's what I experienced on a Sunday afternoon in October: There were rustic dishes (pea soup, fried eggs, meatloaf, etc.), it was warm, and you were filling. But: No cake/tart on Sunday afternoon. No decent coffee (only the classic, dreaded filter coffee, and rather thin). No oat milk or similar for coffee, just the usual creamer. No alcohol-free beer. And vegetarian dishes? Well, fried potatoes with nothing are probably vegetarian.

⛪️Baroque Splendor on the Middle Rhine⛪️ ⛪️The Catholic parish church of St. Mary in Niederbreisig was built from 1717, presumably according to plans by Philipp Honorius Ravensteyn, and completed in 1722. During a renovation in 1975, the church was expanded with a transverse extension⛪️. ⛪️Beautiful to look at from the inside, during our visit with constant musical sound🎶🔊 which perfectly matched the overall appearance⛪️🙏🏼.

The thermal Marienquelle spring flows unused into the Rhine, coloring the estuary a vibrant rust-red. Almost impossible to find, as the area isn't mowed. But it's worth seeing.
