The Seeschloss Ort is located on a small island connected to the Toskana peninsula by a wooden bridge about 120 m long. It is the landmark of Gmunden. Until a few years ago, the spelling "Orth" was still common. On the left side of the inner courtyard, various flood marks are shown, according to which the flood of 1594 reached a height of 2.97 m in the Seeschloss Ort and thus reached the top step of the cloister walk. The small castle chapel is dedicated to St. James. The castle tower, behind which the much smaller church spire almost disappears, bears the year "1092". The altarpiece depicts "The Assumption of Mary", with James the Elder, the patron saint, participating.

The Kaltenbachwildnis in Gmunden am Traunsee is a spectacular, wild and romantic gorge at the foot of the Traunstein in Upper Austria. It begins at the Hois’n Wirt and is known for its steep rock faces, moss-covered stones, and well-secured paths. Through a short rock tunnel begins the actual "Kaltenbachwildnis Nature Paradise". The bizarre rock towers, jagged peaks, spires, and ridges were formed by massive rockfalls and erosion and impressively bear witness to the slow disintegration of the primary rock. Deep down in the gorge, the Kaltenbach winds its way as the namesake of this "wilderness" located in front of the Traunstein. Afterwards, you can also tackle the Miesweg along the shore of Traunsee over rock steps, secured wooden walkways, and steel ladders, and return through the Lainautunnel.
