There are a handful of trails that pass through the area. A bunch of them travel along the shores of the river, and a couple even cross over the river via bridges. The Blue Heron Trail is one of those trails, and it is technically separated into an upper and lower section of trail.

The Sugarloaf Mountain Trail is considered the "easy" choice for getting to the top of the mountain. There is also a route utilizing the Wetmoore Landing Trail on the northern side of the mountain that is a bit longer and has a little more uphill. The Sugarloaf Mountain Trail features some steps, rocks, and roots that still make this "easy" trail a real hiking path.
