The striking building with a windmill not only houses a huge selection of Latvian dishes, but also offers a kind of mini theme park. The huge complex includes a traditional self-service restaurant, a brewery and various bistros that serve typical Latvian specialties such as pīrāgi (filled dumplings) and pelmeni (filled pasta). There is a lot for families and children to discover here: playgrounds, trampolines, a mini train, a small observation wheel and even a hippodrome provide entertainment and make the Lido a popular place for a relaxing trip. In the cold season, the rustic wooden furnishings of the building create a cozy atmosphere, while in summer the outdoor terraces and the lovingly maintained gardens invite you to linger.

The Russian Orthodox Old Believers' Church on Grebenščikova iela in Riga, also called the Grebenschikov Prayer House, is a striking testament to Old Believer culture. Founded in 1760, the congregation once included a wooden chapel, which was later converted into a stone structure. The church took its name from Aleksey Petrovic Grebenschikov, a wealthy merchant who supported the congregation. Today, it is the world's largest Old Believers' congregation with around 25,000 members. The building is designed in a Byzantine style, with the tower showing an Art Nouveau influence with its distinctive golden dome, added in 1906. Inside is a large collection of icons and manuscripts from the 15th to 19th centuries, underscoring the spiritual and cultural value of this place.

The river seems so calm and peaceful here, as if nature itself were inviting you to pause. The ducks float relaxed on the water, and the dense reed forests give the banks an almost enchanted character. The simple bridge with its light patina exudes something archaic, as if it were a testament to times gone by. A place that captivates with its simplicity and at the same time unfolds the calming effect of nature - perfect for taking a break and listening to the sounds of the water and the birds.

The Rāmavas Muiža (Rāmava Manor) is a charming manor house near Riga, located in a quiet park and offering a wonderful atmosphere. The historic building, whose facade is decorated with red accents and white columns, brings the past to life and reminds us of the times when manors were still the social center of rural life. Today, the place serves various cultural events and is also known as a popular destination for families. The walking path through the grounds is particularly beautiful, leading through an old brick arch gate that takes you directly into the historic setting of the manor. The grounds are well maintained, and in addition to the manor house there are a few pretty outbuildings that enhance the authentic flair. A special highlight: The manor house is often open for various events such as weddings and small parties and offers a beautiful backdrop for celebrations. If you want to relax in a quiet, historic place while immersing yourself in Latvian cultural history, Rāmavas Muiža is worth a visit.

The Lido in the southeast of the city is the largest and most beautiful restaurant in the chain of the same name. There is super delicious food of all kinds at very moderate prices. The fountain next door changes its fountain to the beat of the music played.
