The origins of the town hall date back to the late 13th century, when a watchtower was built, constituting the oldest part of the complex. It was likely constructed shortly after the town was founded by Konrad I of Głogów. The town hall tower, originally medieval, has been modernized several times. Its final pre-war appearance, which we see today after its reconstruction, dates back to a design from 1720.

The church's architect, Carl Gotthard Langhans, also designed the famous Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. The church's twin towers were originally topped with domes but were later redesigned as obelisk-shaped spires modeled after Poznań Cathedral's towers.

The Lapidarium of "Łódź Chrystusowa" (Christ's Ship) Church in Głogów marks the site of a former Protestant church designed by Carl Gotthard Langhans and built between 1764-1773 with financial support from King Frederick II. The original baroque church was destroyed during World War II in 1945, with its ruins demolished in 1962 and replaced by a lapidarium in 2003 that traces the church's foundation outline in clinker brick. The lapidarium features a sculptural composition titled "Human Condition" by Renata Banaś, installed in 2006.
