And yet, the unfinished building, solely due to its incredible size, has become a tourist attraction that thousands of people visit every year. Kazimierczak doesn't skimp, he splurges and builds a ballroom and a huge swimming pool for his own castle. The artist works on his home for seven years until construction is finally halted. This has two reasons: First, the authorities noticed that Kazimierczak had simply appropriated land that did not belong to him. And ultimately, the builder simply ran out of money to continue working on his dream.

A huge estate, charged with symbolism: 365 windows, just as many as the year has days, 52 rooms, one for each week of the year. And then there are the twelve towers, each of which is said to represent an apostle from the Bible. A gigantic project that will soon spread over an area of about 6000 square meters. As the local news site „Troj Miasto” reports, Kazimierczak wants to build himself a home. But not just any house, but a castle. He seems to have enough money for it, he became rich through the sale and maintenance of church furniture.

The hike along the northern shore of the lake is truly beautiful—through forests and uninterrupted views of the blue waters. It's also quiet on this side of the lake, and I wouldn't expect many people here. There will probably be fewer cyclists, too, as the terrain isn't particularly bike-friendly, but it's easy for walkers.

This impressive church, built by the Carthusian monks between 1383 and 1405, is unmissable! It is the best-preserved Carthusian church in Poland. Inside, it boasts magnificent historical furnishings: an altar from 1444, Baroque choir stalls, and chancel walls upholstered in Flemish cordovan. And the exterior? The roof is shaped like a coffin!
