Easy hikes and walks around Pleszew

A 27-meter water tower built in the late 1930s, designed by city architect Antoni Karolak as part of Kalisz's municipal waterworks system established from 1935. After being decommissioned in the 1960s, the tower stood abandoned until sculptor and cultural animator Bogdan Jarecki initiated its transformation into an art space. Since 1987 it has operated as the Plastic Arts Culture Center "Wieża Ciśnień," now bearing Jarecki's name.

One of the oldest cemeteries in Poland, established in 1786 by Greek wine merchants of Byzantine Orthodox faith who emigrated from Macedonia and settled in Kalisz in the early 18th century. The necropolis contains graves of Russian imperial officials who served in Kalisz during the partition era, as well as the last descendants of the city's original Greek merchant families.

The building was one of only two structures on Śródmiejska street to survive the near-total destruction of the area by Prussian forces in August 1914; the other survivor was the Holy Trinity Hospital.

This two-storey neo-classical bank building at ul. Śródmiejska 29 was designed by Warsaw architect Hugo Kuder and constructed in 1912 as the headquarters of Bank Handlowy Warszawski. The L-shaped structure features a distinctive rounded corner section framed by Ionic half-columns with garland-decorated capitals, crowned by a pediment containing an allegorical relief. The interior banking hall is notable for its marble checkerboard flooring, marbled pilasters with gilded capitals, elaborate stucco decorations, and a large steel-framed stained glass skylight.

The theatre has occupied four different buildings throughout its history: the original 1801 wooden structure collapsed after 15 years; its 1830s replacement burned in an 1858 city fire; the neo-Renaissance building erected in 1896–1900 was deliberately destroyed by German forces during the burning of Kalisz in 1914.

The Wojciech Bogusławski Theatre in Kalisz, founded in 1801 by the "father of Polish theatre" Wojciech Bogusławski, is one of the three oldest continuously operating drama theatres in Poland and holds the status of an honorary national stage. The current building, designed by architect Czesław Przybylski, was constructed between 1920 and 1936 and has been a listed historic monument since 1979. Since 1961, the theatre has hosted the annual Kalisz Theatre Meetings festival.

The Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas is the oldest church in Kalisz, built between 1253 and 1257, funded by Duke Bolesław the Pious and his wife, Blessed Jolanta. From 1358 to 1810, it belonged to the order of Lateran canons, brought to Kalisz by Casimir the Great from the Sieradz massacre. In 1448, they built a monastery next to the church, currently used as a parish house. The church and former monastery are Gothic, with later additions. Among the church's interesting furnishings, noteworthy are the polychrome and stained glass windows in the Chapel of Our Lady of Consolation, created by Włodzimierz Tetmajer in 1909.
