Since there was no wood in 1905 in the area to build houses, the owner and builder Tom Kelly decided to build this house with the best available thing: bottles. He collected around 51,000 bottles from saloons. The bottles were secured with mud. The Thompson family were the last to live in this building and left in 1969.
