This is a relatively gentle multi-use trail; you could probably get by with a gravel bike, but it's definitely not made for skinny tires. Altogether the trail is about 27 miles one-way, and there are easily a half-dozen trail connectors to help you shape the perfect ride.

Most all the trails offer open views, and you can access these trails from a number of different trailheads and parking lots. The trails are marked well, and it's easy to make different routes and loops.

Even though this section of the East/West Regional Trail runs parallel to Monarch Boulevard, you still spend a lot of time riding through open fields and next to some trees. The path crosses under the road a couple of times via some tunnels. The trail is packed dirt and gravel and is perfect for creating loops and different routes since it's so long.
