The Udine-Motta-Oderzo former railway cycle path is an extraordinary example of territorial recovery that transforms industrial memory into a green corridor dedicated to soft mobility. The route, flat and safe, winds through the heart of the Veneto-Friuli countryside, offering total immersion among vineyards and tree-lined rows. Pedaling along the old railway track, it is possible to glimpse old signal boxes and stations that evoke the charm of journeys of yesteryear. This itinerary is not just a link between historic centers, but a sensory experience that invites you to discover the slow rhythm of the rural landscape, ideal for families and cycle tourists seeking peace and authentic beauty.

The tower in the center of Caorle is the famous Duomo Bell Tower, unique in the world for its cylindrical shape and conical spire. Built around 1070 in Romanesque style with Byzantine influences, it stands about 48 meters tall and represents the undisputed symbol of the city. Its inclined structure and the particular decoration with mullioned windows and hanging arches make it a very rare architectural masterpiece, similar only to some examples in Ravenna. Besides its religious function, the tower historically served as a lighthouse and an observation point. Recently restored, the bell tower can be visited and offers a breathtaking view from its summit, stretching from the historic Venetian center to the lagoon and the Adriatic Sea.

The Casoni di Caorle are the iconic rural dwellings made of wood and reeds that dot the lagoon and the Isola dei Pescatori. These structures, dating back centuries, represent the heart of the ancient lagoon civilization: once they were the permanent or seasonal homes of fishermen, designed to be insulated from the cold and resistant to humidity thanks to the sloping roof and the absence of a central chimney. Today, in addition to being an identity symbol of the territory, many casoni have been restored to preserve the memory of a rural world also sung by Ernest Hemingway. Immersed in a protected landscape, they are reachable via picturesque cycling routes or boat excursions, offering a timeless scenario suspended between land and water.

ATTENTION I advise you as soon as you have passed the small airplane club (ALICAORLE), to take the bridge and not continue straight as indicated by the track (Do it only to enjoy the statues of horses and dogs that are near the bridge). Along the path (a couple of km after the statues of horses and dogs) on the left side bordering the Brian canal, the weeds start to get tall and of the smooth path only a few centimeters remain, not easy to travel for a distance of at least 3/4 km. I ADVISE YOU to take the bridge and turn left into via FAGIANA to continue on strada POLLASTRONA. The path bordering this side of the canal (RIGHT) is smooth and at the end joins the track, at the height of the BRIAN gates/bridge. Very interesting and evocative track. RECOMMENDED!!

A great unpaved trail through the forest and along the Lago delle Premarine. The border between Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia runs through the middle of the lake.
